L’AVALANCHE’s theatre workshop, run by Pascal Milard, is all about having fun! Taking place on Saturday mornings, it consists of a series of exercises to create characters and explore theatrical acting, leading to the creation or adaptation of a show presented in front of a faithful audience. The minimum level of French required is B1.

Message to all theatre lovers,
This year, the Alliance française de La Haye is offering two workshops to try and meet your needs as closely as possible. If you’re keen to get involved in acting and take part in a range of activities to help you discover certain facets of the world of theatre, but don’t have a lot of time or availability to prepare a performance, the first option is more suitable for you. If you want to get involved in an annual project leading up to a public performance, the second option will suit you better.

Option 1: Théâtre-loisir: at a relaxed pace of twice a month for two hours, we offer you the chance to practise acting over a three-month period in a variety of areas: mastering your knowledge, your body and your facial expressions. Dramatic and comic effects in pantomime. Masked play and commedia del arte. All these activities can be included in the programme and more, depending on the interests of the participants.

Option 2: Theatre-production: in a rhythm of weekly two-hour classes, the troupe will be offered a show to produce for March 2024, with stage accompaniment and work on character development for both beginners and experienced actors with a minimum level of French B1 complete to facilitate exchanges and build confidence in the group. All French speakers are also welcome to join the Avalanche troupe.
