To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, and as part of the Orange the World campaign, the Alliance Française de La Haye, in collaboration with the French Embassy in the Netherlands, organised a special screening of the film Woman. Directed by Yann ARTHUS-BERTRAND and Anastasia MIKOVA, this powerful documentary was presented in the presence of Anastasia MIKOVA herself, offering a unique opportunity to exchange views with one of the creators of this committed work.

Through intimate portraits of women who represent half of humanity, this documentary highlights the injustices that women face around the world. Above all, it highlights the inner strength of women and their ability to change the world, despite the many challenges they face.
Woman, a film based on first-person interviews, tackles diverse themes such as motherhood, education, marriage and financial independence, menstruation and sexuality. Thanks to this film, you will hear women’s voices like never before.
Orange the world : campaign against violence against women
Following the screening, an enriching discussion was held in the presence of Ms Anastasia Mikova, co-director of the film, H.E. Mr François Alabrune, French Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mr Richard Shreurs, President of the Alliance Française de La Haye, and Ms Hélène Pichon, Director of the Alliance Française de La Haye. This round table discussion looked at the genesis of the film Woman and the crucial issues surrounding violence against women.
