A look back at the event – Mon père, ma bataille

On Monday 3 February 2025, the Alliance Française de La Haye was honoured to welcome Mario Barravechia, former Star Academy finalist and ARSLA ambassador, for a meeting to discuss his book Mon père, ma bataille (My Father, My Battle). This moving account recounts his personal battle with Charcot’s disease (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder that is still too little known.

Alongside H.E. Mr Giorgio Novello, the Italian ambassador to the Netherlands, and Dr Franck Lebrin, associate professor of internal medicine, the evening was marked by profound and enlightening exchanges on neurodegenerative diseases, their treatment and the importance of support for patients and their families.
